Frequently Asked Questions

Should I see a physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.  If you're experiencing pain, stiffness, weakness, limited movement, or recovering from an injury or surgery, a physiotherapist can help. We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal,  neurological, and post-operative conditions. If you're unsure, give us a call—we’re happy  to guide you.

Will insurance cover the cost of my appointment?

In many cases, yes. Most extended health benefit plans offer coverage for physiotherapy and massage therapy. We offer direct billing to many insurance providers to make the process easier for you. Coverage may be limited to a specific amount per year or per session. It is best to check with your provider to know this information prior to your appointments.

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You can book an appointment with a physiotherapist without a referral. However,  some insurance providers may require a doctor’s note for reimbursement—check your  policy to confirm.

When should I start physiotherapy after an injury?

The sooner, the better. Early assessment and treatment can reduce pain, prevent  complications, and speed up recovery. Don’t wait—early intervention can lead to better outcomes.

What if I have a question?

Feel free to call us! One of our physiotherapists can answer your questions at no cost and  help you decide whether treatment is right for you.

What should I expect during my first physiotherapy appointment?

Your first visit will include a detailed assessment of your condition, medical history, and functional ability. Based on the assessment, you and your physiotherapist will design a personalized treatment program and may begin treatment the same day.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows access to the injured area and freedom to move comfortably. For example, wear shorts for a knee issue or a tank top for a shoulder  injury.
